Prison Art!

Hey All,

I am looking to network with any organizations that connect with prisoners that are artist.I manage a program for youth that have parents incarcerated.I have been wanting to expose the youth to art that reflects what their parents may be experiencing.Many of the youth learn through Music and Art so i figured that this would be a great thing to expose them to.Please let me know if any one has any ideas about Prison Art.I am open to suggestions and looking into any connections that you all may have!

Hi! For Valentines Day my husband sent me some roses that one of the other inmates made. It was soooo beautiful!! It was made out of toilet paper that had been soaked in different colored Koolaids and coffees and that rolled and dried like a rose. He has also sent me cards that were drawn and colored, each were so beautiful and each artist had his own style. I thought to myself if only we could somehow get these works of art out to the public and get the guys feeling good about themselves and what they are creating, it could be a great thing! So I asked my husband about that and he said that they are not allowed to sell there stuff, but I bet that they could be used in an educational way. Anyway thats all I know. I hope that helps.
